Memorial Day Activities in the Blackstone Valley

Memorial Day Weekend is here! This is the unofficial start of summer and RI’s Blackstone Valley is loaded with parades, fun events and cool spots to check out around the region. Come and enjoy!

 

Today, Sunday, May 29 check out the Memorial Day organic plant sale at The Farm in Chepachet until 2 pm.

Enjoy a picnic or cookout at Lincoln Woods and perhaps join the 16th Annual FEDD Hill Memorial Day Cookout event billed as a RI Woodstock —  through 8 pm tonight.

Also this weekend kicks off kayak season at Lincoln Woods with PVD Kayak rentals.

There are not one by two Memorial Day Parades to check out tomorrow, Monday May 30, Memorial Day

  • The Town of Lincoln hosts its annual Memorial Day Parade along the historic Great Road starting at 11 am ending with a post parade food truck celebration at Chase Farm Park.  Grab your friends and start the day with the 43rd Annual Memorial Day Breakfast at Chapel Street Congregational Church, a time honored tradition before the parade!  After the parade and food truck celebration head to Lincoln High School for some a fireworks display!

 

 

  • Riverside (East Providence) RI also hosts an annual Memorial Day Parade, a tradition hosted by the American Legion remembering those who died in active military service. And speaking of food trucks today, Sunday, May 29th head to Munroe Dairy’s Sacred Cow Ice Cream Shop for Food Trucks and Sundaes until 2 pm.

Head to Woonsocket and  check out the amazing Veterans Memorial Museum for their collection of memorabilia ranging from the Revolutionary War up to the Gulf War. They will be open
Memorial Day from 10 am – 4 pm.
