Wonderful Woonsocket

Begin your day at the St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center, known as the “Sistine Chapel of North America”. You’ll see magnificent fresco paintings in the style of Raphael and Michelangelo…and be amazed at the stories behind the art and the artist!

Stop for lunch at the popular Ciro’s Tavern or the picturesque River Falls Restaurant, where you can eat right along the Blackstone River.

Next to River Falls is the Museum of Work and Culture, an award-winning interactive museum that tells the story of the daily lives of French Canadian immigrants who lived in Blackstone Valley’s mill villages.

Before leaving, make a stop at the bronze statue of Hachiko, honoring the famous Akita dog that is a cultural legend in Japan. The statue is located outside the beautiful historic train depot used for the movie “Hachi: A Dog’s Story” starring Richard Gere.
