Pomham Rocks is the name for a small, half acre island located on the Providence River about 800 feet from the shore in the Riverside section of East Providence Rhode Island. Pomham Rocks was selected as the site for a navigational aid due to an increase in shipping traffic heading towards Providence in the first half of the nineteenth century.  Pomham Rocks Lighthouse is an  historic 1871 lighthouse and  one of the last of five lighthouses situated on the Providence River.  It  is still a working navigational light and has been beautifully restored both inside and out.

Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse welcome visitors to the island aboard the Lady Pomham II on select days only, but the lighthouse can be viewed from Sabin Point in Riverside.
