Spring has sprung! Robins are bobbing along, the crocuses and daffodils are poking up from the ground. This can only mean that the Easter Bunny is on his way.

If you’re on the hunt for where to pick up some wonderful goodies to fill your Easter baskets or a special place to dine out… Blackstone Valley has got you covered! 

Easter Goodies

These treats are very popular so make sure to get your pre-orders in. 

Mapleville Farm – They have the most delicious homemade breads, pastries and desserts that you’ll want for the holiday. Check out their MENU. Orders need to be placed and paid for by April 12 and order pick up is Saturday, April 16 from 9 am to 6 pm.  Call (401) 568-0544 or order online.

Wright’s Dairy & Bakery – In addition to their special Easter bunny cakes and fruit tarts for dessert, you can also order DIY Easter cookie kits to create at home. You may also pick up some farm fresh eggs for coloring in their dairy section. Orders for Easter need to be placed by Saturday, April, 9.  Visit their website for ordering.

Speaking of DIY, Gingersnaps Bakery has the perfect easter basket treat, Paint Your Own Easter Egg Kit, which includes a set of 6 pre-frosted egg-shaped sugar cookies ready to be painted! Order online now for pick up on Saturday, April 16. Full Easter Menu

Under the Willow Bakery in Cumberland is also taking orders for Easter. They are offering a variety of pies as well as decorated shortbread cookies. Orders must be placed by this Sunday, April 10 for Saturday, April 16 pickup! Call (401) 425-8116 or check out their MENU!

 

Local Farms

Here are some places to pick up farm fresh eggs for Easter egg coloring or to serve for a tasty sunrise breakfast. 

Blackbird Farm, 660 Douglas Pike, Smithfield – Farm stand open Thurs-Sat, 9 am – 6 pm. In addition to eggs, you can also purchase fresh bacon and other meats for Easter brunch or dinner.

Butterfly Farm, 679 Great Road, Lincoln – Farm stand open Thurs-Sun 7 am – 7 pm, Phone: (401) 837-3300. On Saturday, April 16 @ 1 – 3 pm Butterfly farm is hosting its first Easter Egg Hunt and while the kids are hunting for eggs, you may place an order for your Easter lamb.

 

We are still in the season of Lent for one more week, and did you know that you can get your Friday fish ‘n chips from a 100 year old restaurant that still uses their authentic English recipe? Visit Ye Olde English Fish n Chips in Woonsocket as they are one of the best!! Read  the WPRI 12 feature.

If it’s a Passover Seder you want to share, Mishkahn David (Tabernacle of David) of North Smithfield is hosting a Passover Seder at Twelve Acres in Smithfield on Saturday, April 16 @ 11 am.

Angelo’s Palace Pizza is having an Easter brunch on Sunday, April 17.  Seatings are at 10:30 am and 1 pm – reservations are required.  Adults are $30; Children are $20; and children under 5 are $15.  MENU.

River Falls Restaurant, 74 South Main Street, Woonsocket – Open Easter for riverfront dining from 11:30 am – 6:00 pm with a special holiday menu. Visit their website to make reservations or call 401-235-9026

Egg Hunts

We’ve already mentioned the Easter Egg Hunt at Butterfly Farm, and here are a few more suggestions if you are on the ’hunt’ for some Easter & Spring activities to do.

April 9, 10 & 16 visit Seven Cedars Farm for their Easter Fun Days from 10 am – 3 pm. The event will be $5 and will include: a wagon ride, visits with the Chicken and Easter Bunny, and an egg hunt.  Or, order pre-filled (plastic) Easter eggs for pick-up for your own backyard egg hunt. More Info.

Saturday, April 9 @ 10 am – 12 pm head to East Providence for the annual Riverside Egg Hunt and Family Festival, which, of course, features an egg hunt, crafts & games, and a visit with the Easter Bunny. More Info
