West Trailhead
Driving Landmarks: Trailhead and parking lot on Pleasant Street (RI Route 114 A) in the Rumford section of East Providence. The parking area is on the left 0.2 miles south of the intersection of Route 114 (Pawtucket Avenue) and Route 114A (Pleasant Street), opposite Hunts Mills and before the bridge that crosses the Ten Mile River.

East Trailhead
Driving Landmarks: Trailhead and parking lot on Pleasant Street (RI Route 114 A) in the Rumford section of East Providence at the State Line. The parking area is on the left 0.3 miles south of the intersection of Route 114 (Pawtucket Avenue) and Route 114A (Pleasant Street) just after the bridge that crosses the Ten Mile River. This trailhead is ADA accessible and leads to a (quarter mile) section of boardwalks and stone dust paths along the river.

 

The James V. Turner Reservoir features 2.7 miles of hiking trails and connects with Hunt Mills as well as the Bridgham Conservation Area.  Some of the features include:

  • Boardwalk over wetland areas
  • 1930’s earthen dam
  • Peninsula – a short spur trail leads tot he tip of peninsula
  • Newman Oak  – spur trail to Bridgham Conservation
  • Spillway with a newly built fish ladder
