Farmin’ It Out

Jaswell’s Farm, the oldest operating apple orchard in Smithfield, is currently being run by the fourth generation of the Jaswell Family. Your private tour can include apple picking or pumpkin picking, a video demonstration of how they make their award-winning apple cider or even a hayride. Their farm stand and bakery offer the freshest picked seasonal fruit and fresh baked fruit pies, their own apple cider donuts as well as a wide variety of baked goods, honey, preserves, dressings and more! Gail Ciampa, Food Editor of the Providence Journal, has high praise for their pumpkin bread, cider doughnuts and gourmet chocolate-covered apples!

A visit to Phantom Farms has been a Blackstone Valley tradition for over 60 years. Best known as a terrific apple-picking destination, it has expanded to include a country bake and gift shop, quaint dining room, garden center and flower shop. In the bake shop try their famous pumpkin mousse roll!

Wright’s Dairy Farm is unique in that they not only care for and milk their cows on the farm, but also pasteurize and bottle fresh milk on-site within 24 hours. Tour the farm and be sure to be there between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to watch the cows being milked. And don’t miss their delicious bakery for the freshest baked goods and desserts!
