Roger Williams believed that having his portrait taken would have been vanity and offensive. So, we have no idea what he looked like. So how did his remains end up under a giant statue of his likeness?
Join us for Rhode Island Cemeteries Week, as we explore Roger’s original homestead site that he settled in the winter of 1636. And two of his burial sites, just blocks away.
Wear comfortable shoes, it’s a steep climb!
