FEATURING:

With funding support from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities – WE, THEY AND THE PEOPLE will examine three important SCOTUS (Supreme Court) decisions and what they mean for the Black community.
In the second part of this three-part series, we will examine Tennessee Vs. Garner. In this case, the Supreme Court ruled under the Fourth Amendment, that a police officer may not use deadly force against a fleeing, unarmed person.

This project is supported by the XIX: Shall Not Be Denied: Why It Matters initiative of the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, part of the nationwide “Why it Matters: Civic and Electoral Participation” initiative, administered by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and funded by the Andrew W.
