Unalienable, a short film that reimagines a Robert E. Lee statue, to release on February 20, 2021 in honor of Black History Month
What if living statues of Ida B. Lewis and Virginia Brooks met up one afternoon to decide the fate of a Robert E. Lee statue? Unalienable is a call to communities to formally reunite, reexamine and reimagine commemorative works in order to determine de-accession or imagine new interpretations of statues and monuments. Contact your local art, cultural and historical organizations to find out what’s happening in your community, or to start the conversation.
