May 1 is May Day in many parts of the world. In Ukraine, it is a holiday similar to Labor Day in the United States. No holiday in Ukraine this year, more appropriate is “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday”, the international call of distress. 100% of profits will go to aid Ukrainian Refugees in Poland.
When you’re having a bad day, have a cup of tea and all will seem better. That’s what my Mum used to say to me. Life for the Ukranian people cannot be made better by a cup of tea, but in our small way we can directly help those who have been forced from their homes to nearby Poland. I have been given information about Polish Humanitarian Action,
(http://www.pah.org.pl/) an organization that is actively helping refugees by supplying them with basic, essential items. These items include formula, diapers and baby food. Given that so many infants and children have been made homeless, the need is obviously great.
On May 1, Val’s will host three seatings of Afternoon Tea: 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
100% of the profits will be given on our guests’ behalf to show support and compassion for the millions in need. The suggested donation is $25 per person. Seating will be limited to 32 guests at each seating. Come have tea, appreciate the company of those around you and offer a helping hand to our neighbors overseas.
