Rootstock is back back back for our 3rd year! We could not be more thrilled to welcome you to a once a year event with all of us at Revive the Roots. This year we have more music, more art and more good times to share with you <3

Rootstock is a great way to experience the 23 acre Mowry Commons in Smithfield RI and slip into fall vibes. You choose your experience…

Bring a chair and blanket and let the music wash over you all day
Wander and explore… look at the bugs… look at the plants… look at the animals… take a tour
Snack and fill up on farm fresh foods prepared by Providence’s Frog Bell Foods
Meet our community partners, the amazing folks building community and taking environmental action in Rhode Island
Make things! Crafts and communal mural for kids and adult alike
Shop one of a kind arts and crafts on the Hill Or all of the above!

Festivities kick off at 12pm with bands starting at 12:30. Over the course of the day we will have musical performances by 8 bands and musical acts; The Whelks, Big Brute, Meridian , Lady Pills, Hopper, Convinced Friend, Sun Uchin, and Number One Babe! More line up details will be updated over the coming weeks. Stay tuned to @revivetheroots on Instagram and Facebook and checkout Revivetheroots.org for more information

About The Whelks: The Whelks are an acoustic trio hailing from Warren and Tiverton, RI consisting of Peri DeLorenzo on fiddle, Mark Dobbyn on guitar, and Erin Lobb Mason on upright bass. They play a mix of swing, country, old time, bluegrass, Irish, folk, and their own original songs, all dressed up in glorious three part harmony. @thewhelks on Instagram

About Big Brute: A sonically beautiful sense of home. @bigbrute.band on Instagram

About Meridian: Garden Variety Indie Rock! Seven humans. Honest songwriting. Fun grooves. Authentic and emotionally spellbinding, Meridian is a group of friends in Providence, RI and the winners of Motif Magazine’s 2023 Battle of the Bands. @meridian.makes on Instagram

About Lady Pills: Lady Pills is the project of Providence-based Ella Boissonnault. The music combines elements of 90’s indie and grunge with a more modern pop twist to create a driving and honest sound. Her most recent record, What I Want, was released February of 2022 via Plastic Miracles. The record was featured in The Boston Globe, WBUR, MTV, and New Noise Magazine and earned nominations for 2 Boston Music Awards: Album of the Year and Alternative/Indie Artist of the Year. Her solo performance provides a more raw and intimate opportunity to connect with the music. @lady.pills.music on Instagram

About Hopper: Hopper is a fine blend of pop rocks, moon rocks, hopscotch, butterscotch, the familiar, the unprepared, happenstance, inflation, woe, stardust, teh internets, robots, porcupine riffs, the mysterious past, the unbelievable future, backyard archeology , armchair philosophy, compromise, conviction, and neato economics!! @hopper_band on Instagram

About Convinced Friend: Convinced Friend is the project of Providence-based Songwriter A.S. Wilson. Recorded at Big Nice Studios, the self-titled album (Released November ’22 with Relief Map Records) embraced members of Burr and Nova One, resulting in a collection of largehearted songs that Various Small Flames has called “an intimate and attentive sound in the lineage of Jason Molina and David Bazan… pushing beyond the melancholic surface so common to indie rock, looking instead to explore the deep possibilities beneath.” The songs are marked by Wilson’s time spent growing up in oilfield towns south of New Orleans – focused on the little indignities of love and work, with the sense of impermanence that comes with a home slowly sinking underwater. @convincedfriend on Instagram

About Sun Urchin: Sun Urchins is a three-piece indie grunge band that will rock your darned socks off @sun_urchins on Instagram

About Number One Babe: Information to come! @dustbowlballad on Instagram
