Rhode Island Civic Chorale & Orchestra presents Handel’s Messiah

Tickets are now on sale for Handel’s Messiah, the first concert of RICCO’s 2022-2023 season!
This year, our soloists for the work are RICCO’s 2022 Collegiate Competition winners. An incredibly talented and musical group, we will be joined by five students pursuing graduate studies in the New England area. This number may be a surprise to many who anticipate the traditional quartet of soloists, but when Handel performed the work himself, he often adjusted the number of soloists as well as the voices to sing the arias. As such, we are taking a page out of his book and employing some of the less common aria settings to tailor the music for our exciting soloists. It will certainly be a marvelous performance that balances the tunes we know so well along with some exciting new adaptations!
