This exhibit celebrates Women’s History month by recognizing talented local artists who are both well-known and emerging.
“The exhibit is a milestone collaboration between the City, School Department, the Women’s History Month Committee, and the Advisory Commission on Art and Culture,” said the Commission Chair Miriam Plitt. “With so many talented local women in the area, the display will combine emerging artists from the three high schools in the city with over ten established women visual artists.”
Contributing local artists include Mimo Gordon Riley, Toba Weintraub, Wendy Ingram, and Jaclyn Tomasso.
The opening reception is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, which will include a brief speaking program and light refreshments. The exhibit will run through May 17th and is open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
The Advisory Commission on Arts and Culture is focused on the identification, expansion, and promotion of the arts, culture, and artistic features throughout the City of Pawtucket.
