On September 26 at the Pawtucket City Hall Council Chambers, The Preservation Society of Pawtucket will host Providence College Art History professor Ann Norton for a lecture on Art Deco architecture.
Norton will draw on material from her “Development of North American Architecture” class that was co-taught with Studio Art Professor Eric Sung. The class focused on discovering architectural landmarks in Rhode Island, especially Art Deco buildings some of which are currently in danger of being demolished. These included Shea High School, the former Phillips Insulated Wire Company, and Pawtucket City Hall.
The lecture will take place 5:30 PM and is free to the public.
