Megan Epler Wood Green Economy Tourism presentation

Megan Epler Wood founded The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) in 1990, the first NGO in the world dedicated to the development of tourism as a sustainable development tool. She was its CEO from 1990-2002, leading an international effort to define, manage, and guide the development of ecotourism with businesses, communities, governments, and international organizations. Since then she has gone on to author “Sustainable Tourism on a Finite Planet” and is director of the International Sustainable Tourism Initiative at Harvard University.

Blackstone Valley Tourism Council’s Sustainable Tourism Lab will host Megan Epler Wood where she’ll present her perspective on the United Nations Environment Program’s “Green Economy Tourism Report”.

Following, there will be a 60-minute workshop with Epler Wood led by Robert Leaver of New Commons Inc.
