River Island Art Park in downtown Woonsocket is the beautiful setting for the final concert of the 10 FREE concerts for the Levitt AMP Woonsocket Music Series.
This week’s performance features master percussionist, Sidy Maiga with Rhode Island’s own opening act, Chachi Carvalho and the International Players, MC’ed by Marlon Carey.
The Levitt AMP Woonsocket Music Series is FREE and open to the public. Come ready to eat, dance, and have a great time! Bring a friend and something to sit on.

ABOUT SIDY MAIGA and AFRIMANDING
Sidy Maiga is a master drummer from Mali, West Africa. He is the 2012 Folk Arts Fellowship winner for the State of RI. He is also the producer of Afrika Nyaga, an annual drum and dance festival in RI. Sidy often plays with his band, AfriManding. However, he has also collaborated and worked with several individuals and groups from around the world. He believes in the power of collaboration and has a passion for unifying musical rhythms and sounds of different music styles found around the globe. Sidy ingeniously takes a very unique approach by infusing traditional African styles with modern music, Latin tunes, Brazilian styles, and the Blues. Sidy often plays alongside house music DJ’s for events throughout New England and around the world.
ABOUT CHACHI CARVALHO AND THE INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS
Chachi Carvalho is a multi-talented artist, educator, and front man for the International Players band. He is a native born-and-raised Rhode Islander with roots that stem from the islands of Cabo Verde.
