Latin Jazz impressario Rebecca Cline has made a mark on the stage, in the studio, and in music education.
An associate professor in the Piano Department at Berklee College of Music, Rebecca also co-leads to Boston-area ensembles: Enclave, a Latin Jazz quartet, and Obbini TumbaoLatin Groove, a dance band and collaboration with percussionist Anita Quinto.
Rebecca has performed across the United States and the Carribbean, with high-profile artists including Giovanni Hidalgo, Pedrito Martinez, Paulo Braga, Romero Lubambo, Charles Neville, and Alex Acuña.
In 2005 she performed at the Kennedy Center as a finalist in the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Piano Competition; and in 2007 she received a CMA grant to compose a suite for quartet entitled “Clay, Iron, Water,” based on Yoruban-derived Afro-Cuban ceremonial music.
Performing with Rebecca are RI Music Hall of Fame inductees Marty Richards (drums) and Marty Ballou (bass).
