The bell is ringing and school is in session! Spend the morning with us at Chase Farm Park to experience a day in the life of a student in a historic one-room schoolhouse. Take a seat at an old-style desk and listen to your “Victorian” school teacher tell you all about the academic pursuits and manners required of students who attended Pullen’s Corner Schoolhouse, also known as the “Hot Potato School,” Lincoln’s last schoolhouse that operated from 1850-1922.
It’s not all work though! Enjoy the outdoors with Victorian-era recess games and a make-and-take home nature journal and craft of your very own!
This Homeschool Half Day at Parkside is an educational program designed to meet the needs of home educated elementary-age children, to supplement the learning that happens at home. Our docent-led programs offer families the opportunity to experience life in the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
