The Lafayette Lodge Masons will host a 12th annual pancake breakfast to benefit the Franklin Farm Community Garden this Saturday, Oct. 16, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Lafayette Lodge, 680 Nate Whipple Highway.
Come and join the farm volunteers in supporting the community garden. The menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, eggs, ham, potatoes, beans, fruit, coffee and juice. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Franklin Farm is owned by the town of Cumberland, and is run by the nonprofit Historic Metcalf-Franklin Farm and Preservation Association. Since 2007, volunteers have harvested more than 430,000 pounds of vegetables, which are distributed to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and various local food pantries as well as sold on its farm stand.
