Pawtucket Arts Collaborative’s next pop-up show will be a solo exhibition featuring the work of Joanne Delmonico. It opens on Saturday July 15th at 4:00 with an opening reception from 4pm-7pm, and will end on Sunday July 23 with a closing celebration from 1pm-4pm.
Joanne’s work since March 2020 has sought to serve as a tool for social consciousness, with an exploration of how the urgent issues of our times have impacted people and our planet. She has focused on Climate Change, Black Lives Matters, Women in Crisis and Immigration, showing the human, emotional and relationship aspects of these social issues.
She is a representational artist with a passion for portraits and figurative work. The works of art in her exhibition are large-scale, mixed media, drawings on paper–many with multiple figures.
The show is dedicated to the memory of her late teacher and mentor, RIC Professor Emeritus Enrico Pinardi who died in 2021, before she had the opportunity to show him this body of work.
