Cory Pesaturo with special guest Tucker Antell

August 8 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Cory Pesaturo (“C Pez”) is revolutionizing the Accordion. The only person to ever win the trio of World Championships on Acoustic, Digital & Jazz Accordion, and the only Accordion graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. In 2017, Pesaturo became a Guinness World Record Holder, as RedBull® flew him to Austria to break the Marathon Accordion Record, in which Cory played for 32 Hours & 14 Minutes. His performances at all 3 of his World Championships were played on accordions which were not his, and were generally 90% improvised; both aspects are unheard of in the accordion world.

Pesaturo’s extensive resumé includes appearances at the White House for President and Mrs. Clinton on 4 different occasions, starting at age 12, and 8 other appearances for the Clintons. On one of those occasions, he became the youngest person to ever perform at a State Dinner. Some TV appearances include the Late Show with David Letterman, performing with Johnny Depp, Jimmy Fallon’s That’s My Jam on NBC, Wayne Brady’s Let’s Make A Deal on CBS, and Nationally televised programs in New Zealand, Canada, Italy, Tunisia, France, and Finland. On an NYC broadcast, CNBC/FOX host Maria Bartiromo once said “No one is currently doing more for the Accordion than Cory”. Pesaturo was also chosen as the Featured Accordionist in the Weird Al BIOPIC “Weird” in 2022. He has judged accordion competitions in the US, Canada, and Europe, in addition to other music competitions, and currently gives masterclasses at various universities throughout the US and Europe on Accordion and Improvisation.

For his Classical side which is lesser known, a win in a concerto competition at 16 years old gave Pesaturo the rare opportunity to perform with the Brockton Symphony Orchestra as a featured soloist, where he became the youngest accordionist to ever solo with a symphony orchestra in the US. He has since performed multiple times with Symphonies, including both the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Tucker Antell’s reputation as one of Boston’s top tenor saxophonists is growing. Tucker was hand-picked to perform for a sold-out crowd at the Berklee Performance Center, as part of Hal Crook’s new group, Behind These Eyes, which featured the music of Hal Crook, who described Tucker’s soloing prowess, “Saxophonist, Tucker Antell’s, playing both attracts and holds my attention from the beginning to the end of each solo he plays. He has formidable instrumental chops, technique, vocabulary and knowledge of the tradition, balanced by a rare depth of imagination, originality, taste, and creativity.”

Tucker Antell’s musical heroes have always been those musicians who have a total command of their instrument, while also demonstrating a unique and soulful voice. In 2009 he graduated from NEC where he studied with the legendary Tenor giants, Jerry Bergonzi and George Garzone. In 2016, Tucker published a series of educational Jazz videos called “Tucker’s Tutorials”, and released his first visual LP of original music which draws upon all of his influences. “He has his own sound and approach that reflects all the obvious influences, without sounding directly like any of them” says New England veteran alto saxophonist Bob Bowlby about Antell. Tucker’s passion for hard-hitting, soulful Blues  and Jazz comes across in a fun and honest way, with singable melodies, danceable grooves, and stretched, creative improvisations–with a few twists and turns along the way. “I feel that this music is one of the most honest representations of myself, and I have thought carefully over the years about what exactly what that is. I didn’t want to have to leave out any of the elements of the different music that I love, and the result is this fun collage that isn’t watered down or overly heady.”
