Celebrate 30 years of The Explorer – Plant Medicinal Properties and More

To celebrate 30 years of the Explorer, we have added a special touch to our Explorer boat rides!
Speakers will be attending the Explorer boat tours to educate you on a different topic related to the Blackstone River. This week’s topic is Medicinal properties and ethnobotanical uses of ethnobotanical uses of invasive and native plants! Guest Speaker: Julia Kaplin.
Julia studied Landscape Architecture and Plant Sciences at the University of Rhode Island and graduated in 2022. Working at URI Youngken Medicinal Garden allowed her to deepen her understanding of the relationships between plants and humans. Learning about and explaining these relationships is one of her passions in life.
Tours are on the hour at 1, 2, 3 and 4 pm every Sunday through October.
