So often, we think of history as something that happened a long time ago, but there are people alive today who are actually a part of this park’s story. Ashton Mill was built in 1867, over 150 years ago, but there are people alive today who worked there. What they made was important, whether it was fiberglass for war ships during World War II or beta cloth for space exploration, but it’s the stories of the people who worked in these mills that help bring those stories alive.  Mill workers employed by Owens-Corning at Ashton Mill are especially encouraged to attend and share their stories.
