A Sense of Place: Slater Park

A great way to celebrate National Watercolor Month and the 125th Anniversary of the Historic Looff Carousel in Slater Park just before National Merry-Go-Round Day is with this fun LIVESTREAM EVENT!!!

Join Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor and Blackstone Valley Tourism Council LIVE on Friday, July 24th at 2:30 PM at facebook.com/tourblackstone/live

During the livestream we’ll take you around Slater Park in Pawtucket with a painting demo featuring well-known watercolor artist, Jerry Aissis; a tour of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society; a segment on the history of the iconic Looff Carousel with Donna Houle from Blackstone Valley Tourism Council; a ride-along on a high wheel bike down the Ten Mile River Greenway with the executive director or Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, Devon Kurtz; and a wonderful birthday party to celebrate 125 years of the carousel!!! The livestream will conclude with a showing of BHC’s informative video: “Field Trip Fridays: Looff Carousel Celebrates 125 Years”!
