About this event
This plant walk is meant for the woodsy water lovers! During the one hour hike, we will be going indepth with 5 different plants that you can find in or around the woods and water. We will get to know their growth characteristics, habitat, medicinal and edible qualities, and their role in our ecosystem.

What to bring:

Notebook, something to draw with, even your phone if that works best for you! The beauty of plant walks is that you can feel the textures of the plants and smell the leaves, bark and flowers. All of these observations will help you take home the memory of the plant, so make sure you bring something to document them with.

Accesibility:

This hike will be on flat but uneven terrain. There will be a decline and incline on a small portion (about 20 feet) of the hike. There is also a 18″ wide foot bridge we go over that spans the river. This trail can be WET. Please wear the proper footwear. If you have any more questions about the hike, please feel free to reach out to annie@revivetheroots.org.

Safety:

We will be in the woods or around high grass the majority of our walk. Please be aware of any tick prevention you can take before coming to the property. Here is a link for some essential oil ideas, but the best thing you can do is tuck those socks in! Also, we have poison ivy at Mowry Commons. This will be the first plant we learn to identify

Ticketing:

Each event is a suggested donation of $10.00. If you are able to donate more, this supports us in continuing to offer sliding scale events. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Here is the list of the plants we will be diving into. We encourage folks to sign-up for both days since the plants we will be learning are different.
