Mineral Spring Cemetery Walk

November 13, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The village of Pawtucket in North Providence was a small but growing community in 1774 and at that time, the only burying place in the village was a private lot owned by the Jenks family. There was an urgent need for a public cemetery. The Mineral Spring Cemetery is now the resting place for many prominent and influential people from Pawtucket’s early history.

The cemetery also contains the graves of veterans from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Come with us to learn how this cemetery was formed and who its current residents are. We’ll also discuss ways to preserve grave markers and we’ll hear about PAL’s ground penetrating radar survey to find unmarked graves. The tour is free, but registration is requested. You may contact us by emailing us at contact@heritagepawtucket.org
