Falscher Hase. Falscher Hase (false hare) came into prominence after World War II when meat was still scarce but German housewives wanted to put a special dish on the Sunday table. Cooks mixed together chopped meats, wrapped them around hard-cooked eggs, and shaped the mixture into a meatloaf reminiscent of a rabbit. This “German meat loaf” is a nice hearty meal to help ring in the coming fall weather! It will be served alongside Gurkensalat (cucumber salad), Maissalat (corn salad), & Bratkartoffel (fried potatoes w/bacon).
Reservations are not required to attend.
